GO Train Service is Coming to Guelph

Toronto Skyline - Guelph Realtor BlogIf all goes according to plan, Guelph’s Toronto-bound commuters will have the option of taking the commuter train into Toronto from Guelph starting on December 19th.

This is great news for Guelph on a few fronts.

First, those who live in Guelph but work in downtown Toronto finally have an alternative to traffic gridlock. It’s not the fastest commuter route on the planet – roughly 90 minutes to two hours from start to finish – but it’s not the kind of down time that comes with driving. On the morning ride in, you can sip your coffee, check your email and plan your day. On your way home, the train ride can be a pretty relaxing way to close out the work day.

Second, the plans may have a positive impact on property values in Guelph – particularly in areas close to the downtown transit station. For a number of years, Guelph has been a growing bedside community to Toronto. Many have bought in the south end of town in order to get faster access to Highway 401. Now, with the commuter train coming to town, there are even more options for those want to live in the Royal City and work in Toronto.

You can find more information at the GO Transit site – or download this PDF of the Kitchener GO Train route.
