As a Guelph business owner and resident, it’s important to acknowledge that this city resides on the ancestral lands of the Attawandaron/Chonnonton, the Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples and the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

In addition to celebrating what the city has to offer today, it’s vitally important to recognize that Guelph has been and will continue to be home to many First Nations and Metis people.

I gratefully acknowledge their sovereignty, as well as their histories, their rights and their presence. To all First Nations and Metis people, and their elders, thank you for nurturing and caring for the land that I am able to work on and live on today. I promise to do my best to be a good steward of this land.

I support all Calls to Action as outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
