In Canada, August 1 is a Civic Holiday. In other words, it’s a sort of ‘freebie’ holiday that exists because, well, it’s the first of August and thus time for a holiday!

The City offers some fun family festivities in association with the day. Read more about the John Galt celebrations in Guelph, taking place in, where else, John Galt Park!
